As graduates filed out of the Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center after the university’s commencement ceremony this past weekend (Saturday, December 17), removing their caps and gowns to join their families and friends outdoors for some hugging, kissing and plenty of tears. One lucky graduate Renada Howard got to experience more than what she was expecting as she got the surprise of her life when boyfriend London Bostic-Hardy, popped the question.

Renada Howard had no clue what was in store as family and friends surrounded her outside as they were congratulating her on all her accomplishments and graduating from the Highest of Seven Hills; Florida A&M University.

Within all of the mix and emotions flaring, boyfriend London Bostic-Hardy walks up from behind and says,

“I’m getting sick and tired of you yelling at me, cursing me out, talking nonsense, doing dumb stuff, saying why I do this, why I do that. All these tendencies that you doing, you, yes you, Renada Angela Nicole Howard, is that of a wife.”

“like I told you that day at the pool, I don’t know exactly where this future going to go but I’m not going nowhere without you. Will you marry me,” said Bostic-Hardy.

Renada Howard reaction was breathtaking as she replied back with a “yes.” Howard goes on to hug her newly engaged husband, crying tears of joy as the thought of marrying the love of her life starts to sets in.

The newly engaged couple is looking forward to what the future may hold for the both of them. But the couple never expected the overwhelming response to such an intimate moment. Since a recording of the proposal was posted to Instagram, Saturday (December 16), the post has received nearly 1.2 million views and counting on The Shade Room. There’s also a second video circulating that has received 16,000 views on Campus Lately. The couple has also been compared to Dwayne Wayne and Whitley Gilbert, characters from the hit American sitcom “A Different World” by Bill Cosby.

Both graduates will receive their bachelor’s degrees. London Bostic-Hardy will receive his degree in interdisciplinary studies with a concentration in Mathematics and a has a full-time position as a Math Teacher at Paul R. Brown Leadership Academy Based out of Elizabethtown, North Carolina. Renada Howard will receive her degree in Healthcare.
