Atlanta Rapper Shawty Lo Dead After Fiery Crash

Carlos “Shawty Lo” Walker, an Atlanta-based rapper, was reported dead after a hit-and-run accident early Wednesday morning in Atlanta, Ga.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Walker was leaving the Blue Flame Lounge in Atlanta when his white Audi was struck by another vehicle and sent over the guardrail. After flipping over the guardrail, the car hit two trees and burst into flames.
Walker was ejected from the vehicle and died on the scene. Two other passengers were in the vehicle and were transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Johnnie Campbell, Shawty Lo’s manager of 10 years broke the news on Instagram. “I am so devastated that words cannot describe how I feel right now,” said Johnnie Campbell. “Shawty Lo was not just my artist, he was my brother, and he was my friend.”
Walker is well known in the music industry for being the founding member of the hip-hop group D4L and producing hits like “Laffy Taffy”, “Dey Know” and “Betcha Can’t Do it Like Me.”
He leaves behind 11 children and a large fan base.
Police have not released any other details about the crash at this time.
